X Factor Finalists: What Are They Doing Now?
The last few-weeks for this year's X Factor may have been busy but what about the previous contestants, this is where 'What Are They Doing Now' comes in!
Here is the latest news about our previous contestants.
LEONA LEWIS
Leona, who won The X Factor in 2006, had been on-tour with her 'Labyrinth' tour but she has had to call-off apperances in Australia, Asia and Europe following her split with ex-boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa.
She has been recording songs for the Deluxe Edition of her album 'Echo' and her third-album.
ALEXANDRA BURKE
Alexandra Burke, who won the show in 2008, recently performed a new song called 'Start Without You' at the T4 On The Beach concert.
Her current single 'All Night Long' (feat. Pitbull) is now at NO#30 in the iTunes Chart (Big Top 40)
She has just been confirmed to perform at next-month's Help For Heroes Concert, which will take place at Twickenham Stadium on 12th September.
JLS
2008 X Factor runners-up JLS, have recently released their new single 'The Club Is Alive,' which has this-week landed at NO#14 in the iTunes chart, whilst at NO#16 in the UK Singles Chart.
They have a busy-year of their tour, with their next-performance at the Echo Arena, Liverpool.
DIANA VICKERS
Diana Vickers, who had an emotional farewell in the semi-final rounds of The X Factor in 2008, has had a busy-time since then. She has just recently released a new single called 'The Boy Who Murdered Love,' which is currently at NO#36 in the UK Singles Chart this week and is currently 7-weeks into the charts.
She was also one of the acts performing at this year's iTunes Festival at the Camden Roundhouse and she will be on tour in November, with tickets going on sale tomorrow.
OLLY MURS
Last-year's X Factor runner-up Olly Murs' new track 'Please Don't Let Me Go' is set for release on August 29th. He also took-part in Soccer Aid 2010, which took-place at Manchester United's home-ground Old Trafford and he has also attended the recent premiere of movie The A-Team.
He will be going-back to Old Trafford again ahead of his performance on 7th August, as he will be performing for Manchester United's Open Training Day.
JOE McELDERRY
X Factor 2009 winner Joe McElderry has been in the news very-recently as he revealed that he was gay.
He has been working on his debut album, which is set for release on 25th August. Reports are now suggesting that he is set to meet-up with Disney executives next-week, in-order to work towards cracking in the US.
RUTH LORENZO
It was reported that Ruth Lorenzo, who was one of the contestants from The X Factor in 2008, has split with record label EMI. She is said to be looking to persue a career as an independent artist.
She has also become a songwriter, having written a few-tracks for her former mentor Dannii Minogue. Ruth's debut album is set for release later in the year.
LUCIE JONES
Lucie Jones' elimination from last-year's X Factor to John & Edward (aka Jedward) was the most-controversial elimination of the series.
Having been signed to a modelling agency, Lucie also made her debut in the West End in Les Miserables, alongside Nick Jonas.
JOHN & EDWARD (JEDWARD)
John & Edward, who were the most-talked about act in last-year's X Factor, are said to have signed a deal with Rowntree's to be the face of sweet product Rowntrees Randoms. They also performed on Channel 4's Big Brother.
Their new album 'Planet Jedward' is currently top of the Irish Albums Chart.
NIKITTA ANGUS
Nikitta was one of the contestants from X Factor 2006. She recently appeared on Five's new Glee-inspired TV show 'Don't Stop Believing,' which is presented by ex-Spice Girl and Heart Radio presenter Emma Bunton.
SAME DIFFERENCE
Brother and sister duo Same Difference (Sarah and Sean Smith) were amongst the finalists in the 2007 series of The X Factor.
They are currently-signed to PopLife Records and they are set to release their second-album in November this year. Their new single from their second-album 'Shine On Forever' is set to release later this month.
GIRLBAND
Girlband were amongst the acts in the 2008 series of The X Factor. Just recently, two of the band-members, Phoebe and Tita Lau, appeared on Five's talent show 'Don't Stop Believing'
MISS FRANK
Miss Frank (Graziella, Shar and Shaniece) were one of the groups on last-year's X Factor. They performed at the indigO2 at the O2 Arena last-year.
Unfortunately, it was revealed last-month that Shaniece left the band and now they are looking for a new-band name.
STACEY SOLOMON
Stacey Solomon, who was one of the finalists on last-year's X Factor, took-part in the charity-football tournament, Celebrity Soccer Six this-year.
She has just been confirmed to perform at next-year's Isle of Man Bay Festival.
One of the tracks she performed on The X Factor last-year was 'At Last.' Stacey has just released her version of the track in-aid of the Royal Air Force. She has also been performing for well-known holiday camp Butlins.
