The X Factor series 9 - LIVE Show Weekend 2

DAYS LEFT FOR 3RD X FACTOR LIVE SHOW: Only 5 days to go!

DAYS LEFT FOR 3RD X FACTOR LIVE RESULTS' SHOW: Only 6 days to go!

Another weekend of X Factor action came and went!

As part of the Love & Heartbreak theme, the 12 acts performed on Saturday-night on that X Factor stage, in their bid for the public votes and a place for Weekend 3.

Sunday-night was all-about the decision by the public, with the voting results, which was to define who secured a place for Weekend 3!

After performances from 2010 X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson and US Grammy award-winning star Taylor Swift, it was back to business as the results of the public vote were revealed in no-particular order!

With 10 guaranteed places up-for-grabs and a 11th-place to be fought for in the dreaded Final Showdown for the judges' vote.

The 2 acts whom had received the fewest of public votes and had to compete in the Final Showdown were Melanie Masson and District 3, making it a battle between Gary and Louis' respective categories.

After District 3 having performed first and with Melanie last-up to perform, it was decision time for the judges, on the act they were sending home.

Louis, who had the casting-vote last-week, was first-up to decide and defending his own act, he decided to send home.....MELANIE.

Tulisa, who saw all 3 of her acts intact, was next to decide and after a while, she decided to send home......MELANIE.

Gary, who had stormed-off after last-week's results; show, was next-up to decide and he too, decided to defend his own act, opting to send home......DISTRICT 3.

So it was 2 votes for Melanie and 1 vote for District 3 but there was still one more vote to cast and that one was down to Nicole, who also saw all 3 of her acts through.

Nicole, after quite some time, decided to send home......DISTRICT 3.

So the votes were tied, which meant that for the 2nd-week running, the result went to DEADLOCK, meaning that the act who received fewer votes was to leave the competition.

The act who had received the fewest of votes and was eliminated from the show was......MELANIE.

The result meant that District 3 had secured the 11th and final-place for Weekend 3, meaning that Louis had kept all 3 of his acts intact, whilst for the 2nd-time, Gary lost another act from his Over 28s category.

Missed any of the action from Weekend 2? You can watch both The X Factor and The Xtra Factor online NOW on the ITV Player @ http://www.itv.com/player

So Weekend 2 is officially over but Weekend 3 is along the way!

Good luck to the 11 remaining acts and the eliminated acts, the judges/mentors, the presenters and everyone of the X Factor team!
