Weekend 7 had the theme of Guilty Pleasures but it was also another weekend of live performances and tension-riding results.
Saturday-night, the attention was on the 6 acts, as it was all-about their performances, contesting against each-other in their bid to make it through to the Quarter-Finals of the £1 million recording contract.
The attention turned to the results on Sunday-night, as the 6 acts were to discover their fate in the competition, as 5 places were up-for-grabs for Weekend 8!
After performances from Alicia Keys and Olly Murs, it was time to reveal those all-important results.
With 4 places up-for-grabs by the public vote, the 5th remaining place was up-for-grabs by the judges' vote in the dreaded Final Showdown!
The first act who went through to the Quarter-Final was.....UNION J!
The second act who also went through to the Quarter-Final was.....RYLAN!
The third-act through to next-week's show was.....JAHMENE!
With 3 acts through, only 1 more place from the public vote was up-for-grabs and it was Ella, James and Christopher who were left on that X Factor stage, waiting to hear who secured that place.
The final-place from the public-vote to next-week's Quarter-Final was.....CHRISTOPHER!
The result turned-out to be the most-shocking and surprising ever, as it was Ella Henderson and James Arthur who received the fewest of public votes, resulting in them being in the bottom-two.
With Ella having to perform first and James performing afterwards, the judges' had to make their decision in the Final Showdown.
Tulisa was first to decide and venting her frustration, she took the decision to defend her act and with such difficulty, she opted to send home.....JAMES.
Nicole was next to decide and describing the result as 'a travesty,' she defended her own act and opted to send home.....ELLA.
Louis, who saw his last remaining act through, was next-up to decide and despite hailing both acts, he decided to send home.....JAMES.
Gary, who also saw his last remaining act through, was last-up to decide and despite complimenting both acts, he decided to send home.....ELLA.
The decision was 2 votes each for Ella and James, meaning that the result went to DEADLOCK.
Referring back to the public vote, the 1 act who received fewer votes and was leaving the competition was.....ELLA.
It was James who secured the 5th remaining place in the Quarter-Final, which also sadly meant that Ella's X Factor journey came to an end,
So it's Nicole who has all 3 of her acts intact, with Gary and Louis also with a remaining act in their respective categories, leaving Tulisa with no more acts.
