It was confirmed earlier this morning that Lucy Spraggan, who was unable to perform on last-week's show due to illness, had decided to quit the show as she still had not recovered in time for tonight's show, which sadly means that she has withdrawn from the competition.

Lucy said: "I am gutted not to be able to continue on this journey but I'm not well enough to perform. To accept another free pass having missed last-weekend would not be fair on the others in the competition. I wish them all well. I would like to express my thanks to everyone who has supported me. There is no way this setback will prevent me from fulfilling my ambition. You'll be hearing from me again very-soon."

Despite the sad and sudden departure, the race for that £1 million recording contract continues, as Weekend 5 is finally here.

Tonight will be all-about the performances as the 8 remaining acts perform on-stage once-again in their bid to win YOUR votes and a place through to next-week's show.

Dermot will have all the live action with the performances whilst Caroline and Olly are going to have all the live reaction and behind-the-scenes action.

With all the comments on the performances and to be on-hand to defend their acts are none-other than the judges/mentors Gary, Tulisa, Nicole and Louis.

So let's all be prepared for another exciting-night of performances and let's get ready to vote!

There has also been some more news regarding our former X Factor finalists.

The line-up for the first-night of the 95-106 Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball 2012 was officially revealed today.

It was announced that JLS, One Direction and last-year's X Factor winners' Little Mix would be performing on the first-night of the concert, which takes-place on Saturday 8th December at the O2 Arena in London.

Tickets for the concert go on general-sale at 8:00am this-coming Monday.
